Shah to hold 21 meetings with Mins

Two days left for the BJP’s national president Amit Shah’s two-day Dehradun visit on an apparently performance assessing exercise, the State BJP President Ajay Bhatt said on Friday while addressing a media conference in Dehradun that Shah would hold 21 meetings with the Ministers, the MlAs and the party functionaries heading its different wings separately.

Besides, he would interact with the intelligentsia during his two-day trip, Bhatt added.

He further said that Shah would distribute radios among the Mandal presidents of the areas where they are not easily available to enable the people to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular programme Man Ki Baat, which is aired on the last Sunday of every month.

“The distribution this time would be a token one as those living in the remote areas would be provided with the radio sets. later, the party would distribute radios among all the mandal presidents,” he said.

“This trip of the party’s national President is important for us as he is coming to Uttarakhand for the first time since the Trivendra Singh Rawat Government was formed. The party has decided to welcome him at six places.

He would arrive at Jolly Grant Airport around 9:30 am and from there, he would come to Dehradun by road. During the time he would be travelling on the roads the party workers would be at six places to welcome him,” he said.

The State party chief said that PM’s Man Ki Baat programmes continue to inspire people, several persons on the payroll of some  multinational companies have returned to their villages to  contribute to the nation’s development.

“To ensure that more and more people chance to listen to the popular talk show, the party is going to distribute radio sets among the party workers. The party workers are very excited over Shah’s visit. The party facing the urban local body election soon, it would act as a  morale booster to its rank and file too. Things are thus arranged that he would meet  the members of the election committee separately,” Bhatt said.

Queried over whether the  State Government is out to give a facelift to the city, nervous as it is of its negative track record on the matter, Bhatt said that not much should be read in these things. “It is normal that the party gears itself up when the leader comes. The same is happening in the Government too as Shah is the President of the party which is running the  Government,” he said.
