Sitting MP Mala Rajya lakshmi Shah has been receiving a tough fight from Congress candidate Saket Bahuguna in Tehri lok Sabha seat. Although BJP says that its candidate would win, but in reality Rajya lakshmi has failed to spend her MP local Area Development (lAD) fund in last one and half year.
During election campaign, Saket is appealing to the people to vote for Congress because they have seen 18 months of BJP candidate Shah. Talking to The Pioneer, a senior BJP leader said that it is true that she failed to deliver in last 18 months, but it is also true that Modi wave is in full swing so she will win the seat.
Talking to media persons, Saket Bahuguna, who was busy in his election campaign, said that he was hopeful that people would bless him this time because they were fed up with the BJP candidate Rajya lakshmi’s performance over the last 18 months. During which she did not even ask a single question in the parliament. It is clear that she failed to serve the Tehri people’s interest. Now people have made up their mind to teach a lesson to her on May 7.
Replying to the Saket’s allegation BJP spokesperson Prakash Suman Dhyani said that it seems that Congress candidate has forgotten that how people especially disaster affected people were craving for help after natural calamity in June 2013 and then Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna was rushed to Delhi as if he was unable to meet the exigency. Besides it, it is known to everyone that how much his interference was during Vijay Bahuguna regime.
When people were running here and there in search of food and shelter after disaster 2013 then chief minister Vijay Bahuguna’s son Saket Bahuguna had occupied one helicopter for his personal tour. If he had not occupied the helicopter then few more people might have been saved by the rescue team.
Even then they did not allocate lands, which were demarcated for uprooted family due to Tehri dam, among the beneficiary. When the matter appeared in the media then they (State Government) tried to hush up the matter. These issues will be highlighted by the party workers during door to door campaign. Even we demand CBI enquiry on it.
It is known to everyone that Modi wave is in full swing and people are looking towards BJP Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi with a great hope. Congress candidate Saket has already tasted his defeat during Tehri lok Sabha by poll-2012 and this time again he would be defeated by Mala Rajya lakshmi Shah, Dhyani added.
Besides it, everybody knows that congress is facing infighting within the party because of factionalism, which had appeared in public forum while selection of candidate for three seats of Garhwal division.
