The police registered a case against the principal of Sri Guru Ram Rai public school Pauri, Madan Prasad Bahuguna, under the section 323, 354 A of the Indian Penal Code and section 9/1o of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Thursday and arrested him.
Students of the school demonstrated against the principal accusing him of objectionable activities and molesting girls of Classes VI and VIII and demanded stringent action against him.
The students manhandled the principal in the school while protesting against his objectionable activities. The principal escaped the angry students and members of the public and reached the office of the Superintendent of Police. The students of the SGRR school rallied, shouting slogans seeking justice and reached the SP office after which they also protested on the city roads.
According to Police Kotwali Pauri, a case has been registered against the SGRR school principal under IPC and POCSO sections based on the report lodged by the father of a school girl allegedly molested by Bahuguna. The sub-divisional magistrate Pl Shah, who reached the SP office on hearing of the incident, said that the school principal had allegedly molested the girl on Tuesday and had earlier also behaved in an objectionable manner with another girl student. This statement was supported by many students, along with victim girl.
