The Pharmacy Division of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology and Science (SGRRITS) observed pharmacy week in the institute on the occasion of the 53 National Pharmacy Week from November 21 to November 26.
The Week started with a two Day Seminar cum Workshop on “Ethno pharmacology and Drug Discovery-Perspectives and Challenges”. During the week the pharmacy specialists taught the students and the faculty to identify the medicinal plants in their wild habitat and explained their medicinal values, properties, method of cultivating them and even to convert them into medicines.
On last day of week on Wednesday the students presented spectacular dance and musical performances in the cultural evening. Speaking on the occasion the Director of SGRRITS Preeti Kothiyal said that the Pharmacists play a significant role in the society by creating awareness in the masses about the rational use of medicines.
She also explained career opportunities available for the Pharmacy students. Kothiyal said that Pharmacy is a prestigious, dignified and progressive career.
