The district unit of Student’s Federation of India (SFI) has asked the Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Governments to work in tandem for solving the problem faced by the students in getting their scholarships.
The social welfare department of UP had asked the educational institutes of other states to submit the details of the students of UP studying in their institutes by July 15 this year.
The district President of SFI, Vipin Joshi said that very few educational institutes of Uttarakhand had submitted the details of the students to the social welfare department of UP due which many students of UP could loose the chance to get the scholarships this year.
He said a meeting of the district unit was organised in Dehradun on Wednesday in which it was unanimously decided to ask the UP government to extend the last date for applying for the scholarship.
The SFI also demanded that the Uttarakhand Government should take punitive measures against those institutes which have failed to provide the details of the students to social welfare department of UP.
