A sewage treatment plant with one MlD capacity was inaugurated by chairman and managing director of THDC India limited (THDCIl) DV Singh at THDCIl Rishikesh corporate premises on Wednesday.
The general manager (services) Hl Bharaj explained that the plant is built on latest technology of sequence batch reactor which is cost effective and has better quality of effluent. The treated water from the STP will be used for maintenance of gardens/parks in the THDC colony premises as a water conservation measure. The manure created as a byproduct from the STP will be used in green belt area of the colony as an environmental safeguard.
The director (personnel) SK Biswas, executive director Hl Arora, general managers Vijay Goel, AK Mathur, VK Badoni, J Behra and other officials were also present during the inauguration.
