Seven bodies recovered from debris cremated

Published on:

Despite rainfall, a joint team of Uttarakhand police comprising DIG GS Martolia and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel cremated seven bodies with full honours in Kedarnath on August 6.

For the identification of the bodies, police had collected DNA samples and photographed the bodies. The DNA sample will be sent to Forensic Science lab (FSl). These bodies were

severely decomposed and extracted from debris around Kedarnath temple. Rainfall in Kedarnath is creating difficulties for police teams in extracting the bodies from debris.

The police team is camping in Kedarnath and the work of extracting the bodies from debris will continue on Wednesday.
