In view of the meteorological Centre forecasting the possibility of heavy rain in some places of the State on July 25, 26 and 27, the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) has issued an advisory to all District Magistrates to remain alert. There is also a possibility of cloudbursts and lightning affecting normal public life in the state on the said dates. In the advisory issued by the SEOC, the District Magistrates have been directed to observe alertness at every level while ensuring safety and controlling traffic.

In case of any disaster or accident, they have been directed to conduct timely site inspection and share information immediately. All the deputed officers of disaster management Incident Response System (IRS) and departmental nodal officers will be on high alert and updated through their mobile phones and wireless sets. The Public Works Department, Border Roads Organisation, national highways, CPWD and other departments concerned will ensure immediate action to clear any motor road blocked. All revenue sub inspectors, village development officers and Gram Panchayat development officers will remain present in their designated areas. All police stations and posts will remain on high alert with disaster management related equipment and wireless sets while the officers shall maintain coordination.

During the said period, none of the officials or employees will switch off their mobile phones and they will also remain at their place of posting. In the mountainous regions between 8 PM and 5 AM all vehicular movement should be prohibited except that of ambulances, emergency services, army and paramilitary vehicles.

During abnormal weather and heavy rain warning, tourists should not be allowed to travel to high altitude Himalayan regions. The rivers, streams and seasonal nullahs should also be monitored and in case the water level approaches the danger level, those living nearby should be told to shift to safer locations.
