Some IAS, IPS officers and police personnel also participated in the marathon in all its three category runs of 21 kms, 7 kms and 2 kms. They said that they had participated to encourage the people, particularly the youths, with the theme being based on abstinence from drugs. Kumaon Commissioner D Senthil Pandiyan, IPS officers like Sadanand Date, Riddhim Aggarwal, Vimla Gunjyal, Pralad Meena, Renuka Devi and lokeshwar Singh, retired joint commissioner Dinesh Bhatt and six NSG officers participated and completed 21 kms run.
In the 7 km run, the State additional DGP (law and order) Ram Singh Meena and IAS Rajesh Kumar ran the whole course while the 2 km run saw the participation of director (vigilance) Anil Kumar Raturi, principal secretary Radha Rautri, IG Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal, IG AP Ansuman and Garhwal Range DIG Pushpak Jyoti.
