In the Taxi fuel scam a clear attempt is being made to save the skin of senior officers of Health Department while the travel agency is made scapegoat, said the Sushil Uniyal of Uniyal tour and travel agency while addressing newsmen here on Friday. He made a disclosure that the personal secretary (OSD) of Health Minister also availed the benefit of these taxis for his personal usage.
Uniyal said that this vehicle was used for three days and the Health Department paid its bill. Demanding a CBI inquiry in the episode, Uniyal said that he is being made a scapegoat while the officials of health department are being shielded and no case is registered against them even though the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) has ordered the government to do so. Uniyal said that it is surprising that entire onus of whole episode is being put on travel agency and the officers of the department found guilty of the scam are being shielded on one pretext or other. He said that it is unfortunate that some of the officers involved in the scam which took place between the years 2010- 2012, are honored with promotions also.
Uniyal said that fuel payment of private taxis was made by showing them engaged in tours of state Chief Minister. He charged that some officials of health department, CMO siphoned off the public money by showing fake fuel bills. Uniyal said that the health department has filed different cases from different districts to cause problems to him while as per the rules all the cases should have been filed from one place only.
