On the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti, security has been stepped up in urban and rural areas. The Roorkee police personnel and PAC companies conducted flag march in Roorkee main bazaar.
Notably, on April 2, during Bharat Bandh call, incidents of firing, arson and stone pelting were reported at many places. Considering this the district administration has stepped up security. The personnel from Rapid Action Force, ITBP, PAC did flag march and SP rural Manikant Mishra gave necessary instructions to the cops on Neher Patri Marg. No permission shall be granted for new programmes to anyone now, said the SP rural. As a precautionary measure, all liquor shops have been ordered shut on Satuday, said SSP Krishna Kumar V K.
