Heat building up over the threatened Bharat Bandh called by some unidentified outfits and individuals against reservation on Tuesday, prohibitory order under Section 144 of CrPC has been enforced for a day in Haridwar the district on Monday. Informing, SSP Krishan Kumar VK said that no rally would be allowed to taken out anywhere in the district on Tuesday. He also appealed to the people to maintain peace and directed the police officers to be alert. “Protest of any kind has been banned and an order has been issued to the police officers to take action against those who would try to disrupt peace in the district,” he said, adding that additional police forces have been deployed at sensitive and ultra- sensitive places in the district. Police are extra cautious in view of violence that rocked the district during the Bharat Bandh called to protest against the alleged dilution of the SC/ST Act on April 2.
