It is the turn of State Election Commission now to get tech savvy after the candidates of Panchayat polls. The commission is planning to declare the results of the Panchayat polls on the internet and the results can be downloaded on the mobile phones also.
The Panchayat elections in the State saw wide scale use of WhatsApp and Facebook during the poll campaign. Not to be left behind the State Election Commission has made arrangements for downloading the mobile applications on the mobile phones for getting latest results. On Thursday, Technical Director of NIC AK Dadhichi updated district magistrates about the process of displaying results on Internet and mobile phones. The results of the Panchayat elections and mobile applications can be downloaded from the State Election Commissions websites. The commission is taking the help of State Wide Area Network (SWAN) centres at the block levels to upload the results on Internet and it has constituted Panchayat Election Result Transmission (PERT) teams for the purpose.
