Under the direction of Usha Negi, chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR), a board meeting was held on Thursday following  which a set of rules was released by the commission.

A proposal was forwarded in the meeting for the making manual book of SCPCR which the commission did not have earlier.                                   According to the commission, the SCPCR and State Women Commission have additional powers under Section 15, but the grant is needed to pursue the work.  It was decided in the meeting that  a proposal would be sent to the state government on the matter.

The commission also decided to send a proposal to the state government for a modified new structure of the commission for which new appointments would be held for different positions.

To raise  awareness among the people  about child rights rules and regulation, the commission decided that posters, banners and hoardings will be placed in various public places like government hospitals and police stations.

Taking a strong note of some  schools taking extra fees from the parents in the name of evaluation fees, electricity maintenance and generator fees, development fees, SMS fees, smart class fees and the like, the commission said  strict actions will be taken against them.
