SCPCR orders inquiry in begging case

Published on:

In the case where four women hailing from a different State put behind the bars recently for begging with children, the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has sent a letter to the director general of police (DIG) law and order Ashok Kumar seeking  DNA tests of the women and children.

The SCPCR chairperson Usha Negi said, “We have asked for a DNA test to ascertain whether the women are the parents of the children. It is possible that the children were kidnapped or belong to someone else.”
