Following inclement weather alert from National Meteorological Centre, Government of India for a period between March 8 and March 10, Dehradun district magistrate Ravinath Raman has directed the education officer to ensure that all the Government and public schools from nursery (lKG) to Class V, located in mountainous parts of the district remain closed on March 9 (Monday).
With the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in higher reaches of the district, Raman has directed the sub-divisional magistrates and Tehsildars concerned to remain in their respective jurisdictions to conduct rescue and relief operations, if need be, to minimise the loss of human lives and properties.
