In order to provide education in Government schools, the experts of State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) and District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) have been directed to adopt four schools in their respective areas.
Their teachings in schools will help in drafting need based teachers' training modules imparting quality education in the schools, said SCERT director RK Kunwar.
He further said that teaching modules for Class IX and X teachers in four subjects Hindi, English, Science and Mathematics were prepared in the five day long workshop which concluded on Friday at State Institute of Education Management and Training (SIEMAT).
Around 50 master trainers were also given training during workshop. These master trainers have been directed to give training to the government school teachers in their respective blocks.
In his recent review meetings with the DIET experts, it was informed that students enrolled in Class IX are lacking in basics in subjects like Hindi, English, Science and Mathematics. Due to this, students partly understand what is being taught in the class room.
Remedial classes will also be conducted in the school for students who are lacking in basics in subjects. “Emphasis has been laid on the quality dimension of teachers’ training which is crucial for achieving quality education in schools, he added.
Kunwar visited Dehradun DIET on Friday and reviewed ongoing programmes with the principal and experts and gave necessary instructions to them for quality education in the schools.
“Steps will be taken for restructuring of SCERT and establishment of Block Institute of Education and Training (BIET) to ensure all the teachers undergo departmental training programme each year,” Kunwar added.
SCERT facilitates and promotes the development of professional skills of various stakeholders of education. It offers academic support to other agencies in organising training programmes for teachers and trainers.
SCERT also organises evaluation programmes and undertakes research activities in the field of teacher training and quality elementary education and promotes co-ordination and linkages amongst various institutes involved in Teacher Education and Training.
