The customers of the State Bank of India have been facing problems with the ATMs run by SBI Pauri remaining ‘dry’ for the past fifteen days. SBI officials say that despite the request made to the Reserve Bank of India for currency notes to fill the ‘dry’ ATMs, nothing has happened so far. Consequently, all the 22 ATMs run by SBI are empty.
Chief branch manager, SBI Pauri Amita Raturi said that the bank will receive currency notes from RBI on May 6 and 7. “ But whether the amount will not be sufficient to fill all the ATMS we do not know,” CBM said.
SBI Pauri branch manager Negi said that the request for the currency notes had been made to the RBI three months ago in advance. “The ATMs have been facing problems for nearly one month. For the past fifteen days, however, the ATMs are empty of cash,” he said.
However, the ATMs run by other banks are functioning normally to the immense relief of the people. Punjab National Bank branch manager said that there is no problem with their ATMs. The same is the case with Central Bank of India. CBI’s branch manager in Pauri said that their ATM is running smoothly and the customers of other banks can utilise their ATM facility for the withdrawal.
