Senior Congress leader Satyapal Singh who had contested the election as the party nominee in 2012 Assembly election filed his nomination for Bhagwanpur Assembly seat on Monday. However, he later decided to withdraw. To stop him becoming a dissenter to spite the party’s electoral prospects, the State party leadership swung into action to mollify him. He was made an independent minister in social welfare department. Seemingly pleased with the turn of things, Satpal Singh has decided to withdraw from the race. Contacted, Satpal Singh said that he is happy. He would withdraw on the right date, he added.
