Uttarakhand Kranti Dal’s Sankhnad Yatra, meant to end the duopoly of the Congress and the BJP in the State’s political arena  has completed its first phase that covered Garhwal region. The Yatra  moved back to Dehradun from Tehri district on Monday.

The second phase of the Yatra  that would cover all the six districts of the Kumaoun region will commence from June 9 and would  continue till June 16.

Uttarakhand Kranti Dal central committee spokesman Suresh Juyal claimed that the party has received enthusiastic response from the people  of the Garhwal region.

He further claimed that many workers and supporters of Congress and BJP have joined the party, showing faith in UKD as the only party left in the State than can end  the duopoly of the two national parties.

Uttarakhand Kranti Dal  has been staging Sankhnad Yatra under the banner of Uttarakhand Bachaoo, Uttarakhand Bacaoo. It crossed several towns like Pauri, Kotdwar, Satpuli, Srinagar and Rudraprayag.  UKD State president Pushpesh Tripathi, senior leader Kashi Singh Aary, State party spokesman Suresh Juyal and  acting president Vyas led the rally from the front.

UKD State president Tripathi said that the party workers should ask the people about what they have got while saddling the two national parties in power by turns over the past 16 years.

The history of the people’s struggle and sacrifice for the creation of the State is still in vivid in the collective mind and the party would not

allow it to go waste, he said, adding that they had taken vows  to end the duopoly  of the Congress and the BJP and to end with them the mafia raj that is ruling the roost.

He asked the people to support it in its mission  and vote for it in the Assembly election 2017.

Spelling out  the party’s developmental roadmap, he  said their stress would be on the villages. “We would promote  industry  too to develop the state. Besides, we would make Gairsain the permanent  capital of the State,” he added.
