Office bearers of the Uttarakhand Sanitation Employees Union and many other sanitation outfits under the leadership of president of Sanitation Employees Commission Uttarakhand, Bhagwat Prasad Makwana met Principal Secretary Urban Development MH Khan here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion Coordinator of Sanyukt Morcha, Ram Avatar Rajaur said that the Principal Secretary responded positively to the seven-point long pending demands of the sanitation employees. He said that Khan made announcement regarding the regularisation of the daily wages sanitation employees, about new recruitment, after making increment in the insurance of the sanitation employees it was finalized to be made around Rs 3.50 lakh which was earlier Rs 1 lakh and many other announcement were done.
During the meeting he said that he asked the members to cancel their scheduled strike on February 10. Responding to this the union members said that they would be postponing their strike for months on condition of early redressing of their problems. Among those present on the occasion were Jugal Kishore Pant, Subash Chandra,Chiranji lal and many others.
