Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand who had been on hunger strike for 48 days was forcefully sent to hospital by the Haridwar district administration on Thursday.
Sanand had been protesting in support of his demand for putting a stop on all hydro power projects on the Ganga and its tributaries. The Haridwar sub divisional magistrate headed the team which sent Sanand to hospital after which is slated to be presented in court.Activists have opposed this move while also pointing out that not a single representative of the government came to meet Sanand while he was sitting on protest.
