Mussoorie MlA Ganesh Joshi said that construction of Saint Mary’s Hospital, Mussoorie remains incomplete despite the foundation stone being laid way back in 2010.
In reply, State Health Minister Surendra Singh Negi said construction work is being delayed due to investigation. However, the hospital is now functional and it is serving the people of Mussoorie.
He further said they have deployed six doctors, including one radiologist there. Joshi contradicted, saying only two nurses had been employed. They were later sent to Premnagar and Rani Pokhri.
The estimated cost of establishing the hospital is Rs3.5 crore. The State had released Rs2.99 crore to the executing agency so far, the minister said.
As far as the anomaly in construction is concerned, we got an inquiry conducted by additional secretary, Planning Commission Uttarakhand.
The probe started on December 20, 2014. Thereafter, the Speaker told MlA Joshi that he had asked five questions. But as per the norms, four supplementary questions can be asked regarding one question.
Joshi, though annoyed, did not react and took his seat.
However, when the Speaker allowed time to the Congress MlA Navprabhat to ask questions Joshi raised issue with the Speaker.
PAM Hridayeash said they could not question the Speaker’s pronouncement. We should desist from setting wrong precedent, she said.
