Property dispute with relatives led to murder of Sahaspur Village Development Officer Devesh Kamboj on Monday.
Kamboj was shot dead at his home located at Shakti Vihar, Patelnagar by unidentified persons.
Police team has been formed and deployed at various places in Haridwar and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh to nab the culprits, said Patelnagar CO Swatantra Kumar.
The police station in-charge MP Saini said that police rushed to the spot at around 10.20 am after being informed about murder of VDO. His body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
Sources said that Ritu, sister of the deceased had property dispute with her in laws. Her husband and Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) native Sanjay had died last year. She had also filed a case in the court in regard to property dispute with her in laws. VDO Kamboj might have been murdered by her in-laws, averred sources.
After sending his children to school, he was getting ready for office when three persons on a two wheeler reached Kamboj’s home and shot him twice before escaping from
the scene. He was admitted in a private hospital where he was declared dead.
