Dozens of Sahaspur (Telpura) residents gathered at the venue where the district Panchayat meeting was being held and shouted slogans against Jal Sansthan, accusing the department officers of failing to provide drinking water in their area.
Surya Bahadur Rana, a protester, said that those residing in Telpura, Atakfarm and Sahaspur are not receiving portable water for the last three years.
They have submitted several memorandums to the officers concerned in the past but no action has been taken so far, they said. They called off their agitation after being assured of action by the district Panchayat members.
