The members of district planning committee created a ruckus over lack of development in their areas during the DPC meeting  presided over by Dehradun Minister in-charge and cabinet minister Madan Kaushik on Tuesday.

The clamour  started when some of the members demanded funds for the new development schemes be approved for their areas promptly  while the ruling party members insisted on  such schemes being approved following  work-plans being made to ensure their timely completion.

Vikasnagar MlA Munna Singh Chauhan accused the Congress- helmed  previous government of approving projects without drafting work plan which resulted in several new projects approved in the previous years  remaining incomplete. The developmental projects  hanging fire amount to loss of Government funds, he said, adding that the pending projects should be completed first before  new schemes are  approved.

Meanwhile, the committee has approved Rs69.84 crore for various developmental projects for the annual district plan for the year 2017-18. The committee members were informed that one fourth of the total approved amount was given to public works department to complete the ongoing projects.
