A video showing a senior lady official of the Education Department beating up an elderly lady mercilessly has gone viral. The video shows Tripta Sharma who is Right to Education (RTE) coordinator in the Education Department of Uttarakhand pulling the hair of one Sudha Choudhary who is a caretaker of the officer’s house.

The victim has lodged a complaint against Tripta Sharma in the Aaraghar police post while Tripta also filed a complaint in the same police post, saying that she had been attacked in her house. The Aaraghar police in-charge Mahipal Singh Rawat said that the police is investigating the matter.

Kusum Singh, a resident of Balbir Road in Dalanwala, told The Pioneer that Tripta is forcibly living in her house. She further alleged that Tripta had been regularly abusing the grandson of the caretaker of the house Sudha Choudhary.  “On Thursday afternoon, Tripta tried to beat the child against which his grandmother protested. Tripta then started beating the old lady by pulling  her hair. I somehow managed to save the lady from her clutches,’’ said Kusum Singh. She further alleged that Tripta, a tenant in the house, is also refusing to vacate.

When contacted, Tripta said that caretaker and her grandson had abused and attacked her. She said that she had incurred the wrath of Sudha after  she (Tripta) had failed to comply with her  demand of using her influence to get her grandson admitted to one of a prestigious schools of the city. “The child being not eligible, I refused to give her the favour she sought, resulting in her  keeping grudge against me,” Tripta said. She claimed the eviction suit filed by Kusum had been rejected by court. “Hence this attempt to defame me,” she said,  the video is selective as it  had not showed the caretaker and her grandson furiously attacking her.
