In connection with the case of murder and burglary reported from Nakraunda in Balawala, Dehradun police have declared a bounty of Rs2,500 on each of the two absconders named Shazid Pahalwan and Akram, who have remained elusive from the police since the crime was committed, said Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Ajay Rautela on Saturday.

Based on the available information, teams have been deployed at various places in the State and some parts of western Uttar Pradesh to nab these criminals. Four accused — Nadim, Shahzad, Sazid and Akhlaq — have so far been arrested.

It should be mentioned here that in the armed burglary case, around six unidentified criminals had murdered a 23-year-old person named Ankit and four of his family members were injured on September 10. Taking cognisance of the incident, a case under sections 395, 396 and 397 of the IPC was registered in the Raipur police station.

With police facing flak from the people the district police had formed several teams and they were deployed at many places, including western Uttar Pradesh. Police are conducting raids to arrest the two remaining absconders, the police officer added.

The Chief Minister, Harish Rawat, had made things more difficult for the police when he issued a deadline for the State and the district police to crack the case promptly.
