The court of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Finance and revenue Haridwar has slapped a penalty of Rs 3 lakh on Ms Arun Beverages, Greater NOIDA for misbranding and misleading public on Mirinda cold drink, a product of PepsiCo India limited.
He has also charged a fine of Rs 50000 each on Balaji Enterprises Haridwar road luxar and Ms Varun beverages, Dehradun.
The ADM has also warned these firms to refrain from misleading the general public. The court has delivered this judgement on a case filed by food safety officer Haridwar who in an inspection on March 05, 2016 found the samples of popular brand Mirinda cold drink suspicious at Balaji enterprises. The samples were sent to the testing lab at Rurdrapur which confirmed misbranding in the samples.
