To promote industry-friendly environment, the State Government is going to provide 24x7 power supply to the industry. In this regard, the State is to promote small power project because big power project create environmental hazards.
"Although if you compare with Uttar Pradesh, where 16 hour power cut reported on April 17, CM said that we had assigned IIT Roorkee to conduct environment assessment impact on the 56 hydro power projects capacity of 700 MW, in which two out of 56 hydro power projects around 30 MW capacities have been cleared by the IIT," CM Bahuguna said.
"Ironically, BJP was being ruled in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh as well in between 2007-12, but they could not expedite Kisau power project. Now both States have convened round table talk to begin work on the power project," he said.
Talking about his Delhi visit, CM Bahuguna said that to pacify the planets (Harish Rawat), he met Congress party high command and apprised them about the State Government's ongoing developmental projects and politics as well.
During his Delhi visit, he also met with Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar. During the meeting, he had sought three nurseries for the State, but he gave us 17 nurseries. Now he would request Union Minister Harish Rawat, who had gone to abroad on official visit, to pursue State matters which are pending before different ministries. He also made it clear the "both Rawat and me are doing politics of development; so we are more concerned than others." As far as land ‘goof up’ is concerned in Udhamsinghnagar then, he has asked Kumaon commissioner to stay the SDM order and conduct a probe.
