While participating in the general discussion on the Budget, the leader of the Opposition (LoP) Indira Hridayesh blamed the State Government for being a failure on every front.
Tearing into the Government, she said that roads in the State are in a pathetic condition and the State Government is doing nothing to improve them.
She further said that the condition of the roads is an indicator of the development. She said that the Congress Government, helmed by Narayan Dutt Tiwari, had changed the face of connectivity in the State through construction of roads and many bridges.
Hridayesh added that the then Union surface transport minister Bhuwan Chand Khanduri had also provided support to the endeavour of the Tiwari Government. The LoP termed the much-touted Atal Ayushman Yojana of the State Government as a failure and claimed that the hospitals are not providing treatment to the poor under the scheme.
She also questioned the government for not allotting budget for the Rudrapur Medical College. She said that the farmers and the youth have been given a short shrift in the budget.
Senior BJP MLA Munna Singh Chauhan on the other hand defended the Budget and termed it a historical one. He said that not even a single word in the Budget is out of place or imaginary.
He said that most of the schemes mentioned in the budget have already started. He further said that the per capita income of the State has increased which bodes well for the State.
