Rising prices: AAP sells sugarless tea in protest

Published on:

In protest against the rising prices, the district unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a fiki (sugarless) tea stall near the Clock Tower here on Monday. In a clear attempt to mock the BJP, which opened large number of Namo tea stalls, ahead the general elections the AAP activists gathered at the busy Clock Tower and placed a tea stall and sold the sugarless tea to the people.

The District President of AAP Sanjay Bhatt said that the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi promised good days to the people of the country but the increase in rail fares, freight charges and sugar has meant more hardships for the people of the country. In a sarcastic remark the AAP leader thanked Narendra Modi for hiking the prices of sugar and saving the people of the country from Diabetes in the process.  The District Treasurer of AAP SS Negi alleged that the BJP increased the prices of Gas to favour the Ambanis. He said that the Ambanis privately claim that both BJP and Congress are in their pockets and the increase in prices of gas has confirmed their claim.

The AAP activists sold four cups of sugarless tea for a rupee at the Tea stall. The programme was attended by Ranvir Choudhary, Rajesh Bahuguna, Sunita Singh, Kamal Devradi, Aryan Kotiyal and other AAP leaders.
