Rising mercury slows down pace of campaigning

Shooting up mercury has slowed down campaigning for local body polls. Coolness among workers towards campaigning has become major cause of concern for the senior politicians busy in forging strategy to ensure victory of their candidates. Now, the political parties have issued instructions to their workers to expedite campaigning.

If the Congress issued instructions to its workers and candidates in fray to speed up the campaigning and propagate different developments carried out by state and union governments, the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership has asked its party men to woo the voters by propagating policies and different development works carried out by the Party. It said that it was duty of the party workers to ensure that cadre voters must reach up to the polling booths.

A Congress observer Major Ved Prakash issued the instructions to party worker, asking them to intensify the campaigning and work as a united force so that the Party came out with shining colours in the local body election. From BJP, State unit president Teerath Singh Rawat came forward to infuse enthusiasm in the party workers.

Inspite of instructions from the seniors, party workers are not going out to campaign due to scorching sun. It is the major cause that stops them from campaigning during day hours. The campaigning in different areas is at snail's pace. While seniors want the junior to sweat out for the cause of party candidates, juniors are still in ‘cool’ mode.

This mode has drawn line of worry on heads of senior politicians. They, however, feel that the campaigning would catch up as the dates of polling would draw close.

So far, the candidates have put their banners and posters in different areas seeking support of the people. But they have yet to start an intensified campaigning to woo the voters. In some areas, the candidates along with their supporters have started seeking votes.
