Opposing the Chief Secretary's recent order regarding review of works done by reviewing officers and assistant reviewing officers between January and May 2014 in the Secretariat, dozens of review officers and assistant review officers under the banner of Uttarakhand Review Officers' Union protested and burnt the order in the Secretariat campus on Friday. The protesters warned that they will intensify their protest unless the order is withdrawn. The protesting officers gathered in the secretariat campus and shouted slogans against this order and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
Sources revealed that the CS order the work review taking cognisance of a complaint wherein it was reported that the government works are being adversely affected because reviewing officers and assistant reviewing officers are wasting time instead of working in their offices.
The union general secretary Deepak Joshi said that CS Subhash Kumar is unnecessarily imposing the order on the employees though reviewing officers are executing their work with honesty. He demanded that CS should withdraw the order without delay in the employees' interest and if he fails to do so, then the union will intensify its protest. Among those present on the occasion were Pradeep, Rajesh Bahuguna, Ram Painuli, Yukta Mittal, Anil Uniyal and others.
