Retd Nagar Nigam staff stage a novel protest

Irked by the alleged negligence of Nagar Nigam in clearing their pension for the past six months, the retired employees staged a novel protest by taking off shirts on Monday outside the Nigam premises.

Speaking  to The Pioneer, Madan Gopal, a retired employee, said, “In spite of so many reminders, the civic body officials are not paying any heed to us. Hence our decision to stage a sin-in sans shirts.”

The employees raised slogans against the mayor Manoj Garg and Mukhya Nagar Adhikari Vipra Trivedi.

Notably, the Nagar Nigam has also not been able to pay the dues of its contractual employees for the past few months due to paucity of funds.

Asked to comment, MNA said that she was busy in meeting and would respond later.
