Most of the retail outlets in the town have opened gateways for shoppers with providing heavy discounts on the occasion of New Year.
Discount offered by these showroom are up to 50 percent and flat 40 percent on merchandise to lure maximum number of customers.
The winter sale began right from the last week of December as part of the New Year sales promotion.
The prices of commodities at some of the leading stores like liberty, hype, Belmonte, United Colors of Benetton, levis, Woodland, Numero UNO and others are drastically decreased just to attract buyers. Almost all branded showrooms in the city are providing heavy discounts on different products as to clear their old stocks and are left with no other option than to sell these off at a discounted price rather than face loss.
“We have offered up to 50 per cent discount on the premium range of shoes for men and upyo 20 to 40 percent discount in ladies footwear according to the collection in our store said Deepak Devrari, owner of liberty showroom on Paltan bazzar. Discount is especially given on the occasion of New Year and is valid till January only.”
G (ethnic clothing for urban women) is giving discount on three categories like buy one get 10 percent discount, buy two get 20 percent discount and buy three get 30 percent discount.
Hype branded showroom for foot wears in Paltan Bazaar is providing 20 to 40 percent discount to their customers. Woodland is also providing discount up to 40 percent on apparels.
Pantaloon in Pacific mall is providing offer, buy two get one free for their customers, so that they can do more shopping in the New Year.
College student Aditi Rawat finds it cool and easy for her pocket. She said that the premium range of clothing can be purchased once in a while, but college goers like us require a heap of branded stuff in our wardrobes.
Every two to three months, my friends and I look around to pick up branded goods at discounted prices.
A local resident Manish Negi said that New Year is the best time for shopping as most of the showrooms offered heavy discounts on every
merchandise.
He also said that one can also purchase clothes as a New Year gift for their relatives and friends in reasonable prices.
