Residents of the Brahmapuri area along with BJP councilors at Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) gheraoed the District Magistrate and acting Mukhya Nagar Adhikari, BVRC Purushottam complaining about the improper construction of safety wall around the river Bindal by the Irrigation Department.
They asked the DM to immediately intervene in the matter and resolve it. BJP councillor Satish Kashyap told the DM that the Irrigation Department is constructing a safety wall near the Bindal river. This safety wall is meant to be three metres high but the department is constructing two metre high safety wall. He added that the lesser height of the safety wall will increase the risk to homes in the rainy season. He urged the DM to ask the officials to increase the height of the safety wall by a metre.
