Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, who has returned from Delhi after meeting the Prime Minister and Congress high command, may reshuffle the officials including secretaries, additional secretaries and District Magistrates in a day or two. Talking to mediapersons, the CM said that he has instructed to the departments’ secretaries to send a list of their officers, who are corrupt or allegedly involved in corruption, and once he receives the list, he will take stringent action against the guilty officers.
Replying on Dharchula MlA Harish Dhami allegation that he belongs to Union Cabinet Minister Harish Rawat so he is being targeted by the CM Bahuguna, he refused to make any comment. Advising MlA Dhami, who has been evading Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) issued by judicial Magistrate since, CM said that he should approach High Court for relief.
Justifying State Government’s decision to withdraw the case, CM said that it is Government prerogative to withdraw the case and it is also privilege of court to either accept or reject the plea of State Government. Thereafter he refused to make any further comment on MlA Dhami issue.
Talking about his Delhi visit, CM Bahuguna said that we have apprised the prime minister that after the final notification, the state cabinet deliberated on its impact on the development of the economically backward border area and we found that it would a setback on the region’s development. He also appealed them to constitute a High Power Committee of various ministries like Defence, Home, Water resources, MoEF, Power, NDMA (Disaster Management) to review the decision (notification). The Prime Minister assured the chief minister that appropriate action would be taken on his request. After Prime Minister He also met minister of state for Environment and Forests (independent charge) Jayanthi Natarajan and asked her to take positive action on the matter. He further apprised them that the declared eco-sensitive zone is next to the Chinese border and the notification regulates even the defence infrastructure.
Talking about distribution of portfolios among party leaders or workers, CM said that state president is preparing the list of party workers contribution in recently concluded local body polls. Following on the report he would consider the name of the party leaders or workers.
