The President of the All India Commerce Association (AICA), H Venkasteshwarlu has said that research plays an important role in formulation of polices. He was speaking after inaugurating of a ten day workshop on research methodology organised by the School of Management of Doon University here on Monday.
The workshop is being organised under the aegis of the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR).
Venkasteshwarlu said that the selection of suitable research topic and research methodology is a big challenge for the scholars. He said that the research methodology explains and analyses
the research subject which makes it essential that one should adopt a scientific approach for it.
Management Guru and advisor of the Swami Ram Himalayan University, Alok Saklani said that the workshop would help in inducing the participants for undertaking research work. Elaborating on various aspects of selecting a suitable research methodology, he said that research occupies a prominent place in development of nation and society. He added that quality research helps in formulating polices which help the society at large. Presiding over the programme, the Vice Chancellor(VC) of the Doon University, C S Nautiyal said that university is striving to provide proper educational environment and required steps in the direction are being taken. Highlighting the importance of teaching and research, he said that the excellence of any institute depends on the academic activities and quality of research being undertaken by it.
He expressed hope that the workshop would help the research scholars in inculcating qualitative improvement in their research.
The head of department of the management, H C Purohit said that the department is committed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the students so that they excel in the global competitive environment.
