Following the directions of Kumaon commissioner, work has been stepped up for preparing Nainital for the tourist season. As part of such measures, on Sunday, the lake Development Authority secretary and additional district magistrate Harvir Singh led work to place new tiles in place of broken and damaged tiles at Pant Park and Gurudwara pathway. On seeing the work underway, a German tourist sauntering in the area also started helping in the work of laying tiles on the Gurudwara pathway.

The German visitor said that he does similar work in his native country and had come as a tourist to Nainital. The additional district magistrate and local residents also thanked the German tourist for the spirit he had show and assistance he had provided in the task of laying new tiles. Meanwhile, the ADM informed that the task of beautification of the city was being executed under the development authority. Considering the tourist season in Nainital, new tiles are being placed on the pathway wherever they have been uprooted due to some reason. In addition to the task of laying tiles on the pathway, the railings on the roadsides are also being painted afresh.

The ADM further informed that other important tasks like clearing the choked drains in the city and other civic works in Nainital will also be completed on time. Meanwhile, the municipal council has also started work on sprucing up the public parks under its purview.
