Several areas of the capital city witnessed power outage due to the ongoing repairing and renovation work at sub-station and feeders in Dehradun on Monday.
Department officials claimed that strict departmental instructions have been issued to employees to ensure timely completion of the maintenance works in order to avoid inconvenience to the residents.
Southern sector of the capital city witnessed power cut for nearly five to seven hours to the maintenance works carried out by the State power department in Dehradun on Monday. Among thee feeders and sub stations were power cut was implemented includes Turner road and Vasant Vihar based sub divisions, 11 KV Dehra, Indira Nagar, Vasant Vihar and Vijay Park feeders. Among the localities that faced the power outage between five and seven hours includes Kargi Chowk, By-pass road, Vidya Vihar Phase I and II, Adarsh Vihar, Narayan Vihar, Doon Palm City, Pathribagh, Dehrakhass Phase I and II, Nanak Vihar, THDC, Malik Chowk, Vasant Vihar Phase I and II, Vaibhak Chowk, Urja Bhawan, Vijay Park Extension, Ballupur Chowk, Canal road, Kamla Nagar, Mohit Nagarm Ram Vihar, Rajeev Colony, Mitralok colony, Shrirampuram, Chakrata road, Mahendra Vihar, Akashdeep colony, Indira Nagar, Bhudgaon, Panditwari, Harbanswala and adjoining areas.
However, department officials claimed that the maintenance works were completed in the given time frame except few colonies where testing of lines continued till late in the evening. As per the roster prepared by the state power department, maintenance and renovation works will be done at 11 KV Vijay Park and Govindgarh Feeder and Ballupur chowk, Vijay Park Extension, Canal road, Kamla Nagar, Ram Vihar, Rajeev Colony, Mitralok, Shrirampuram, Chakrata road, MahendraVihar, Akashdeep colony and adjoining areas will face the brunt of power cut from 10 am to 5 pm on Tuesday. Additionally, the power outage would be implemented at Chauhan market, Panditwari, Bhudgaon, Vasant Vihar Phase I and II, Rajeev Vihar, Panchsheel Park, Upasana enclave, Shri enclave, Ekta Vihar, Sabdbhawna Kunj and adjoining areas due to the maintenance works lined up at 11 KV Panditwari feeder on Tuesday. The power cut would be implemented due to the maintenance works lined up at 33 KV IMA feeder and 11 KV Soyal feeder on Wednesday and 11 KV Vijay Park, 11 KV FRI, 11 KV Kaulagarh feeders on Thursday respectively and Soyal, Nimbuwala, Tapkeshwar colony, IMA campus, Garhi, Sharam Vihar, Vasant Vihar, Vijay Park Extension, Canal road, FRI, Bajawala, Masandawala, Vilaspur, Kandoli and adjoining areas will face the power outage. The maintenance work would be also carried out at 11 KV Kaulagarh feeder and Teacher colony, Chakrata road, Ballupur road, ONGC, FRI, Vilaspur, Ram Vihar etc. and adjoining areas will face the power cut on Friday whereas Vijay Park extension, Ballupur chowk, Canal road, Kamla Nagar, Ram Vihar, Rajeev Colony, Mitra lok, Shrirampuram, Chakrata road, Mahendra Vihar, Shivalikpuram, GMS road will face the power outage due to the maintenance work lined up at 11 KV Dhera feeder on Saturday. The maintenance work would be also held at 33 KV Kaulagarh line and 11 KV Ashirwad feeder on October 22 and 23 respectively due to the maintenance work. Department sources told that tightening of lose connections and maintenance of lines would be done during maintenance roster.
