Members of the religious fraternity in Haridwar have passed a proposal of condemnation against laksar legislator for purported misconduct with Mahant Sagar Muni. They have sent a memorandum to the district magistrate, demanding action against the legislator.
All the 13 Akharas have opened fight against the laksar legislator Sanjay Gupta when they met at Kankhal ashram of Sri Panchayati Udasin Bada Akhara on Thursday.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Mahant Maheswar Dass of Bada Akhara said, “On one hand, the BJP boasts of having high respect for the saint community and the party’s legislator from laksar, on the other, insulted a seer by using abusive language. This we would not tolerate.”
Secretary of Bada Udasin Akhara Mahant Mohan Dass said that they have prepared a memorandum addressed to the district magistrate, demanding necessary action against the legislator. However, he hastened to add that in case the MlA apologises they would forgive him.
The seers have also planned to write to the BJP national president Amit Shah and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, conveying their strong disapproval of the BJP MlA’s conduct.
