The resumption of work of the UPNl workers on Tuesday also meant that the patients started getting the benefit of the free pathology tests in OPD. The state government had released the GO for the Mukhyamantri Nishulk Janch Yojna on December 01.
The billing software of the hospitals was subsequently updated for the scheme but with the UPNl workers going on a strike the scheme was not getting implemented on ground. The scheme would however be applicable only for the card holders of the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojna (MSBY).
Under the scheme the patients visiting the various OPDs of the government hospitals would get the benefit of 30 types of pathology tests, the fee for which would not be charged.
These tests include nine type of clinical pathology tests, ten types of biochemistry (sugar, S creatinine, Sgpt etc), serology tests, ECG, X-ray and Urine analysis.
