Uttarakhand Congress spokesperson Shilpi Arora has categorically said that State Government is making all efforts to provide relief in disaster-affected villages.
Earlier, they made emphasis on rescue operation and now focusing on distribution of relief material to the affected people. Besides it, Government machinery is busy in the compiling data of missing person and most probably they will make it public shortly.
As far as senior leader is concerned then AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi have been closely monitoring the relief operation in disaster-hit areas of the State. To assess the damage State PCC president Yashpal Arya has left for four-day Kumaon visit.
lambasting the claim of former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, she said that if he has any exclusive technique to collect information about the missing persons, then he should disclose this to the State Government. Otherwise he should refrain from making unnecessary statements in media.
Commenting on ex-speaker Harbans Kapur’s allegation that there is lack of coordination between party and State Government, she outrightly rejected it and said that party has full faith in State Government and its working style.
She further said that State Government has completed rescue operation in Kedarnath and Badrinath so now they are busy in assessing the damage in Kumaon division. She also appealed Opposition to cooperate with the State Government instead of criticising it. She also appealed social organisation to come forward to help the State in current scenario.
