The Nari Niketan hogged a lot of negative light recently. This time the family members of one more inmate, Vimla, who hails from Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), met her on Wednesday and took her back home the same day, said Uttarakhand additional secretary (social welfare) Manoj Chandran on Thursday.
He said that the officials had recently got in contact with her husband living in Bareilly. Her family members who had arrived here to take her back home comprised husband, son and daughter-in-law.
However, given her condition that is stated to be grave, the family members decided to have the surgery in their own place instead of at Jolly Grant Hospital as decided earlier. They made up their minds after they talked to the doctors at the facility.
Earlier, she was first admitted at Doon Hospital when her condition worsened. Things still worsening, she was transferred to Jolly Grant Hospital where she was set to undergo surgeries in stomach. Chief Minister Harish Rawat had recently announced `2.5 lakh to help her with the surgery. It should be mentioned here that Vimla was enrolled in Nari Niketan in November 2015 at the instance of Doiwala SDM after she was found wandering around.
