The regular flights by the Air India between Pantnagar and Delhi will be available from the Pantnagar airport for people for four days in a week i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Presently, there is no regular flight from the Pantnagar airport. More so, despite ‘pressing’ demand from the people particularly business leaders to have regular flight from the Pantnagar airport to other parts of the country, the State Government has not been able to do much to  resume the air connectivity from this Terai belt in Udham Singh Nagar for long.

Finally, perhaps keeping in view long pending demands from the entrepreneurs and people at large, the Government has been able to start regular flight from the Pantnagar airport. To have regular flights from Pantnagar was on the top of the priority list of the Government, said the officials concerned of the Udham Singh Nagar district administration.

Expansion works of this airport are also in progress, said Pankaj Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate, Udham Singh Nagar. Commencement of air transport service from this airport from October 1, will definitely help provide better transport services to the industrialists as well as tourists, he added.More so, citizens of this region may also make the most of the air service from here, further said the officials concerned if the Udham Singh Nagar district administration.

At the same time the authorities concerned of the Pantnagar airport have also maintained that steps are being taken to ensure proper facilities for passengers and safety at the airport on priority basis. The demand for having regular flights particularly from entrepreneurs r is very old.So better transport services may go a long way to boost the industrial sector in the State, maintained industrialists.

Apart from industry sector, modern and fast mode of transportation may also come in handy to boost tourism sector which plays a significant role in  the hill state’s economy.
