Recovery of headless bodies of a boy and a girl near Nanak Sagar barrage in Udham Singh Nagar sent shock waves among the citizens on Monday.
The limbs of the bodies were also found severed and these were found lying at some distance away from the
bodies. However, the heads were missing. To recover the heads, the Udham Singh Nagar police have launched a hunt across the region.
The matter came to light when a citizen who was passing by the site of the Nanak Sagar barrage on Monday morning saw the ghastly sight and informed the police
officials concerned. The deceased were believed to be in their twenties and police believed their heads were slashed with a sharp weapon.
This is what the preliminary investigation suggested, police said. Investigation is now on to identify the bodies, they added. “We would soon get into the bottom of the murders,” a senior official, Udham Singh Nagar police, said.
