To enable the beauties from Uttarakhand to get a platform, Ray Foundation would stage Miss Monal competition in Haridwar from Saturday onwards. The contest has been named after the state bird Monal which is known for its beauty. Miss teenage and Miss Monal would be selected through this contest, the organisers said. The winner of this contest would get a chance to participate in Miss Femina India contest. The beauties selected from 16 different cities of the state would appear in the final contest in Haridwar. The jury for this contest would include TV artists Sakshi Sharma, Kireet Suri and Maher Khan.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, the director of Ray Foundation Dr Neeta Saxena said, “The beauty contest would be held for two age groups – 13 to 17 years and 17 to 20 years. The girl selected in Miss Monal contest would get an opportunity to go to Malaysia.
Also the winner would get a chance to act in a tele-serial.”
