Though Uttarakhand Agriculture Minister Harak Singh Rawat had resigned from Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam limited (UPNl) chairman’s post verbally, he did not submit any resignation letter to anyone so far. Now question being raised is whom did Rawat submit his resignation toIJ
During The Pioneer’s investigation, it was revealed that Rawat did not submit any resignation letter to anyone till Sunday. Instead of following the procedure, UPNl Board had convened a meeting in which it decided that now onward only a Major General rank or above officer can be appointed as chairman of UPNl. later UPNl general house meeting was convened and it approved the decision of UPNl Board.
Now they are busy in preparing the minutes of UPNl meet for the appointment of chairman. Meanwhile, Rawat is continuing as chairman of UPNl. Sources said that if he resigns immediately then vacuum would be created in UPNl and day to day official proceeding would get disturbed.
As per decision of the board, Major General rank officer comes after secretary as per the Indian order of precedence. It means State Government can appoint their secretary as chairman of UPNl. Sources said that Cabinet Minister Rawat has announced his resignation from UPNl just to mitigate the pressure which he was facing since inception as chairman of UPNl.
