Intending to teach a ‘lesson’ to former Khanpur MlA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’, one of the 10 dissident MlAs who had gone against the Congress-led State Government when Opposition sought division of vote on Appropriation Bill on March 18 and later left the Congress to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Harish Rawat is going to evoke positive response of the public by capitalising on the personality of the party’s former Union Minister who had emerged as a Gurjar leader, the late Rajesh Pilot while campaigning for upcoming Assembly election.
It has been noticed that Champion is representing the seat since 2002.
The Congress was considering the seat as one of their strong seats because of Champion but now Champion is carrying the saffron flag on their shoulder.
As we know that since inception of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat was giving stress in Haridwar district but two out of nine dissident MlAs i.e. Champion and Pradeep Batra belong to Haridwar left the Congress so he is not ready to leave any stone unturned.
In this regard his OSD Sanjay Choudhary, who is basically physiotherapist and staying with him since CM Rawat received neck injury in starter charter plane accident, may be fielded against the Champion.
Although political analyst said that champion personality would be much superior than the new face of congress party.
Although there is no contribution of late Pilot in Uttarakhand but he is trying to target Gurjar vote bank through is statue.
As Choudhary represent Gurjar community so CM may push his name for Khanpur Assembly seat.
Although it is not clear because CM Rawat himself said several times that ticket distribution is discretion of party high command.
Meanwhile, he is trying all permutation and combination so that he could reach to the final conclusion before upcoming assembly eletion which is due in 2017. As we know that Champion’s major vote bank is Gurjar vote so CM Rawat has tried to target Gurjar voters by installing statue of late Pilot.
